Harebell

Harebell is an absolute sweetheart. She is always up for fusses and likes to use you as a scratching post.

Harebell and Trudi joined us together just last year in 2023, and have made themselves at home in the herd very well while also maintaining their close bond.

Harebell is mostly black with a small white patch on her forehead that looks like a bird.

She is due to calf in March 2024.

Rocket

Rocket is a bit of a cheeky monkey and a food fiend! She is always first to the fresh grass or new hay bale and if you’re taking too long to feed her, you will hear about it!

She is lovely though and will happily accept tail scratches.
She has the distinctive Jersey build and look from being a Kiwi x (Jersey x Friesian).

Rocket is due to calf around March 2024.

Socket

Socket is one of the younger members of the herd and was born on the farm in 2019 to Binky, one of our other long term residents.

Socket is very curious and appreciates a good butt scratch but does prefer when you don’t bring the dog along (understandably).

Socket is mostly black with horns and although she is a Kiwi X, doesn’t show many of the distinctive Jersey traits like Winnie, Clover and Rocket.

She is due to calf around March/April 2024

Trudi

Trudi is a gentle soul who causes very little drama. She probably most recognisable as the spottiest cow and the fact that she is often one of the first to greet a visitor and ask for fusses. Trudi loves a butt scratch but most of all loves using people as human scratching posts!

Trudi came with Harebell to us last year (2023) and has settled in well while maintaining her close bond with Harebell.

She is due to calf late March 2024

Clover

Clover is a feisty individual who has no fear. She is one of our youngest milking herd but doesn’t let that stop her from letting some of the others know who’s boss!

She has the pretty face and short build that comes with being part Jersey and is black all over.

She is due to calf April 2024

Winnie

Winnie is a sweet girl who loves a tail scratch. She is Kiwi x (Jersey x Friesian) and has the small stature of the Jersey breed.

Winnie is black all over with a small white spotty patch on one side.

She is due to calf Spring 2024

Jagger

Jagger is the boss! She has stumpy horns but seems to think she has full ones. Not that she needs to use them, as the others all know that she’s in charge.

Jagger is often the girl leading the way through the fields, to the parlour or to new grass, and the others all follow her lead.

Jagger is one of our largest cows while also being one of the most chilled. People and new situations don’t phase her much at all.

She is all black with short horns and is due to calf April-May 2024

Our future additions…

This year we will be expanding our herd which is essential to our business plan being successful. We will be losing cows to retirement and will need new additions to maintain a sufficient milk supply without putting stress and pressure on the cows we currently have.

How you can help:

You can help in many different ways!

You can donate using the link below to help with cow and calf upkeep and wellbeing costs or to help us purchase additional members of the herd next year.

We are also looking specifically for investors for individual cows for this year, contact us via email for more information

Things the money would be spent on can include: Hoof trimming, Salt and mineral licks/supplements, Vet bills and healthcare, Winter feed or additional other feed as necessary, Parlour encouragement and treats, Parlour upgrades to make milking more enjoyable, Track upgrades so their commutes around the farm are more comfortable, and more.

Any contribution is hugely appreciated!

If you have any questions or are interested in investing in or sponsoring a cow, please email us on hello@stroudmicrodairy.co.uk and we will get back to you asap.
